Social Trends for the ?Coming? Recession

We have all heard about the correlation between hemlines and the stock market, the lower the market goes the lower hemlines go.  However, the good folks at The Socionomist (they can be found at www.socionomics.net ) have added things like baby names and colors of clothes and design and color of cars as well as horsepower to that list.  ? The mood-name relationship ? allows us to forecast that declining social mood will produce less ?risky, more ? conformist names in the coming bear market years.  As a corollary, we should see aggregate moves away from flamboyance in everything from fashion to architecture.?  So look for darker, duller colors of clothes and cars, more rounded less angular cars, lower hemlines, use of more common baby names as the markets fall.
