You’ve heard me talk many times about unbunding your mediation skills to expand your practice and your income. It’s essential to think of yourself less as a mediator and more as a solution provider. That distinction is especially important if you want to practice in today’s workplace.
Members of my [link] Workplace Learning Circle function as curriculum designers, trainers, conflict coaches, facilitators and Ombuds in a variety of work settings where ‘they didn’t need’ mediation. Well, here’s your chance to find out more about conflict coaching, an emerging specialty in the field of mediation and alternative dispute resolution.
If you’re in the New England area, you can learn more by attending NE-ACR’s event,[ link] ADR Careers in Today’s Workplace on September 16, 2008. I’ll be moderating a panel of very successful practitioners who understand that there’s more to mediation than meets the eye. [link] For more info read this page
If you’re in my former home state, New York, you can attend an upcoming training held by the New York State Dispute Resolution Association. I’m a member so I got a heads up about the early bird pricing. Don’t miss out; Rita is one talented educator. Here’s the info:
