: Voir DireRejection letter stories - what is your best story?
By jly
On Legal Profession Blog they have an interesting post on rejection letters with links to actual rejection letters and the stories behind them. Pretty much everyone has received rejection letters, regardless of their field or profession. These links focus on law firm rejection letters and there are some good ones (or should I say “bad ones”?). The post even details a “rejection letter prank” that two law students pulled on their roommate.
I’ve had some pretty interesting rejection letters including one from a law firm that I’m pretty sure I didn’t apply to and a page and a half (single space) rejection letter - but that’s a long, boring story - much like the letter.
What are your most interesting rejection letters? Did anyone save them?

U.S. v. Rakes, 2007 WL 4510264 (12/26/07)(Published) - The 10th acknowledges the defendant's arguments "have force," but rejects them all. The 10th affirms the d.ct.'s rejection of the defendant's plea agreement that would have resulted in a sentence of 9 months [after trial, the defendant ended up with a sentence of 63 months!), where, prior to the plea rejection, and unbeknownst to the defendant, the victim, who was an AUSA, had written to the judge explaining the impact on her of the defendant's threatening letter...

Law Professor Lateraling 101: Part 7 (Rejection Is A Dish Best Served Cold)
I know, I know, before I start getting smart ass comments from the likes of Slater and Moss, that it is "revenge" that is the dish in question, but it seems to me that rejection is also quite a frosty platter as well...
