Nell Newton to become Notre Dame's Dean

          Nell Jessup Newton, the Chancellor and Dean of the University of California, Hastings, will become Dean at Notre Dame's Law School this summer.  She has been our Dean for three years, a time in which Hastings has accomplished increases in hiring of interdisciplinary faculty and has developed an important block of real estate that serves as a large part of the school's endowment.  We will miss her and congratulate Notre Dame on a fine choice.
