Heller Affirmed 5-4

In a 5-4 decision, the United States Supreme Court has decided District of Columbia v. Heller in favor of the respondent, affirming the decision of the United States Court of Appeal for District of Columbia Circuit.  Justice Scalia authored the majority opinion, joined by Chief Justice Roberts and Justices Kennedy, Thomas, and Alito.  Justice Breyer dissented, joined by Justices Stevens, Souter, and Ginsberg.  Justice Stevens dissented, joined by Justices Souter, Ginsberg, and Breyer.
