: inversecondemnationEminent Domain & Property Law Blogs From Today's ALI-ABA Session
By Robert Thomas (inversecondemnation.com)
At today's ALI-ABA annual conference on eminent domain law in Coral Gables, Florida, Tony Della Pelle (NJ Condemnation Law blog) and I (in a session moderated by Nancy Myrland) presented "The 'Social' Lawyer: New Media Strategies for Marketing Your Eminent Domain Practice," about how eminent domain attorneys can use social media for business development or simply to keep up on the latest cases. For those of you who were with us in person or on the webcast, here are some of our favorite law blogs. And, if you couldn't join us, you really should consider it next year since the conference features stellar faculty, all experts in the field of condemnation and eminent domain law.
These are the essential blogs in our area of practice:
- Gideon's Trumpet - this blog, published by Gideon Kanner, is the equivalent of a nonstop eminent domain conference, since Gideon shares his encylopedic knowlege and history in condemnation, compensation, land use, and redevelopment.
- New Jersey Condemnation Law - Tony Della Pelle and his firm talks about what's going on in the Garden State and environs, one of the national hotbeds of our area of law.
- National Eminent Domain Blog - Alan Ackerman -- the guy who got Poletown overruled -- posts nearly daily on condemnation and related topics.
- Eminent Domain Law Blog - brought to you by the Owners' Counsel of America, the one-per-state network of the country's most experienced eminent domain attorneys. I am a member of Owners' Counsel, but that has nothing to do with my subscription to the blog. Really.
- SchwabeBlog: Condemnation - the blog from Dennis Dunphy's firm, focusing on the Pacific Northwest.
- California Eminent Domain Report - Rick Rayl and Bradford Kuhn post about takings law in California and the Ninth Circuit.
- California Property Rights Journal - another one from the Golden State, this time from Mark Alpert, focusing on regulatory takings and inverse condemnation.
- Law of the Land - Albany lawprof Patty Salkin posts nearly daily the latest decisions in land use law.
- PLF Liberty Blog - Pacific Legal Foundation's blog on property rights, eminent domain, regulatory takings, economic liberty, and environmental law.
If I missed any (including yours), let me know.
