Defund NLRB?

ADVERTISEMENTS

As Congress works to figure out how to fund the operations of the government, one proposal is to simply stop paying salaries and expenses of NLRB personnel.

H.R. 1 [link], which runs 359 pages, deals with funding government operations through September 30, 2011.

Amendment C.R. 578 [link] states:

At the end of the bill (before the short title), insert the following:

Sec. __. None of the funds made available by this Act may be used to pay the salaries and expenses of personnel to carry out and implement the National Labor Relations Act (29 U.S.C. 151 et seq.)

This amendment was offered by Rep. Tom Price, Georgia Republican.

I learned about this from Seth Borden at McKenna Long & Aldridge. Seth has a great blog - Labor Relations Today.
