OK, the good news is that Pew says I am a younger Boomer, at least for a few more months! W00t!
In my house we have 3 or 4 e-readers (dedicated devices as opposed to a dozen apps on PCs, phones and iPads), so I guess that makes us readers – and geeky.
Generations and gadgets: Old(er) folks own most e-readers
“Seven percent of “younger boomers,” those now between the ages of 47 and 56, and 6 percent of those ages 66 to 74, own e-readers, the highest percentages among all age groups for devices like Amazon’s Kindle, Barnes & Noble’s Nook or Sony’s Reader.
That’s according to a new report, “Generations and their gadgets,” released Thursday by the Pew Research Center?s Internet & American Life Project.”
“Pew also said about one in 11 (9 percent) adults “do not own any of the devices we asked about, including 43 percent of adults age 75 and older.” That’s right, 48 percent of people 75 or older don’t even have a cell phone.”
