Ballard Spahr Adds Three IP Attorneys in Phoenix

Ballard Spahr has grown its intellectual property practice through the addition of three lawyers in Phoenix.

The firm said it added partners Brian W. LaCorte and Donna H. Catalfio, along with associate Andrea L. Stone. The three joined Ballard Spahr from Phoenix-based Gallagher & Kennedy.

LaCorte, who counts website domain registration company Go Daddy among his clients, focuses his practice on IP litigation and transactional matters. Catalfio is a registered patent attorney and handles IP litigation and a range of licensing matters.

Ballard Spahr really beefed up its IP practice through its 2008 acquisition of IP boutique Needle & Rosenberg in Atlanta.

William H. Needle, who now heads up Ballard Spahr?s IP practice, said in a statement that the Phoenix partners give the practice more of a national presence and make the firm?s attorneys more personally available to clients on the West Coast.

Since entering the Phoenix market in August 2006, Ballard Spahr  has grown to 25 lawyers there.
