Obama Bars Talk Of Triangles

ADVERTISEMENTS

According to Greg Sargent?s Christmas Eve Roundup in the Washington Post,

It?s good to see that Obama is so uninterested in the ?triangulation? game that he?s banned the word in the White House....
?Triangulation just isn?t Obama?s style,? Obama acolyte Sargent reports,
and his scolding of liberals seems to be rooted in genuine frustration with them for disagreeing with him about what?s politically possible, given today?s realities. To whatever degree Obama is using his disagreement with the left for positioning purposes, it?s more about temperament than ideology: His role is that of the voice of sanity trying to talk sense into uncompromising partisans on both sides. This just isn?t Clintonian triangulation in any sense.
Now this really is news. A WPost reporter implies ? or does he actually say ? that Clinton?s frustration with liberals was not ?genuine?; that Obama becomes frustrated with whomever disagrees with him, for whatever reason; that Obama is guided more by his saintly temperament (with its devotion to compromise) than any ideological or partisan concerns; indeed, that Obama looms over Washington as ?the voice of sanity? trying to tame ?uncompromising partisans.?

Well, what did you expect? Objective reporting?
