SCANDAL OR S.O.P.?

Attorney Andy Coffey sent in the following last week:I wanted to let you all know about a situation that occurred the other day in county court.  I bring this situation to everyone?s attention because I don?t know if it is an isolated incident or if it happens more often than we think. I had a young client who was arrested for possession of cannabis under 20 grams.  His mother wanted to teach him a lesson as he had been a difficult child to raise, and so she did not bond him out.  Six days after his arrest, she hired me to represent him.  I went to visit him at the jail, but found out he was no longer there because he had gone to Magistrates and received a with-hold adjudication and court costs.  I met with him a few days later, and after our conversation he advised me he had been pressured to take the plea and wanted me to try and vacate the plea and try to get him into Drug Court...continue to full post
