: Legal Pad | LAL.A. prosecutors form union
By Jason Siegel
The 700-member Association of Deputy District Attorneys was recognized as a collective-bargaining unit by Los Angeles County's Employee Relations Commission on Monday.
The association decertified as a union 20 years ago and claimed they would be the largest union of county prosecutors in the nation once they became certified as again.
ADDA president Steve Epson told the Associated Press that his first priority is increasing members' salary. L.A. County prosecutors start at $56,000 a year - compared to $91,000 to start in San Francisco County and $76,000 in Contra Costa County, according to the AP.
