: Eastern District of Texas Federal Court PracticeHub artwork - "The Shoe Show" - various artists
By Michael C. Smith
One of the features of our new offices is that we reserved (and properly lit) the two interior walls for rotating displays of artwork by local artists in our "Art at Work" program. (Sharp eyes will notice our first three Christmas card watercolors on the right side of the office in this photo).
When we first started looking at moving into what had been the Hub Shoe Store from 1897-2001, I wanted to do something with local artists that recognized the history of the building. What the local artists came up with was "The Shoe Show: Remembering Good Times and Great Memories" - a collection of eight original paintings by Marshall area artists on the theme of shoes. We will be having a reception recognizing the artists later this month, once we've finished the last bits of work on the mezzanine rooms.
