: Religion ClauseClinton Says Obama Should Have Left His Church Over Pastor's Remarks
By Howard M. Friedman
ADVERTISEMENTS
Hillary Clinton yesterday said she had a different view than does Barack Obama on how Obama should have reacted to controversial statements by his long-time pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright. CNN reported on Clinton's statements. Suggesting that Obama's speech last week was an insufficient response to the controversial clergyman, Clinton in a news conference said: "I think given all we have heard and seen, he would not have been my pastor." And in remarks during an interview, she stated: "You don't choose your family, but you choose what church you want to attend."Full post as published by Religion Clause on March 26, 2008 (boomark / email).
