: AFL-CIO NOW BLOGVote!
By Mike Hall
It?s crunch time. The polls are open around the country and today?s the day to cast your vote for candidates who will fight for working families?not candidates funded by the corporations that flooded this election year with record amounts of secret contributions.
(Stop back by AFL-CIO Now blog for election coverage. We’ll be covering key results throughout the evening.)
We need lawmakers who believe in keeping jobs in America, not giving tax breaks to corporations that outsource jobs.
We need lawmakers who believe in strengthening, not privatizing, Social Security.
We need lawmakers who believe in tax cuts for the middle class, not millionaires and billionaires.
We need lawmakers who believe in reining the worst abuses of Wall Street bankers, not rolling back Wall Street reform.
We need lawmakers who believe in quality, affordable health care, not repeal of health care reform.
We need lawmakers who believe in workers’ rights to join unions and to a safe workplace, not weaken labor laws and workplace safety rules.
Join the millions of union members who will vote today (click here to find your polling place). Encourage your co-workers, friends and neighbors to vote. There are still a few hours to volunteer at get out the vote phone banks or knock on doors or help drive people to the polls.

Now it?s time for you to help make that difference. Vote.
