Jeremiah Wright vs Rev. Moon

By Ed Brayton

ADVERTISEMENTS

John Gorenfeld, whose new book is out and is terrific so far (I'm about two chapters into it), has a handy chart comparing Jeremiah Wright to the Rev. Moon. Multiple members of the Bush family have been paid millions of dollars to speak on behalf of this fascist cult leader at rallies around the world and the media has ignored it completely, never once demanding that they justify it. Compare that to the feeding frenzy over Wright.

Again, I'm not arguing that Wright hasn't said things that deserve to be harshly condemned. I'm just pointing out the incongruity of placing so much emphasis on this one controversial minister with virtually no political influence or power compared to the bevy of religious right ministers and crazy cult leaders with enormous influence in the Republican party.
