A California woman who suffered severe burns when a police flash grenade exploded near her will receive $1.2 million from the city of Oakland to settle the lawsuit she filed. The woman was burned during an October 2008 SWAT raid in East Oakland. Her lawsuit claims police used an “extreme level of force” during the raid. The woman suffered burns over 11 percent of her body and is permanently disfigured, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
