Brutal for the Workers. Do Ya Think? Really?

By Joseph McDaniel, Esq.

ADVERTISEMENTS
I recently ran into an interesting article that had a slightly upbeat tone, and I always like upbeat.

Mind you, I think that anybody who suggests that things are better now than they were two years ago is smoking Wacky Tabaccey, but that's just my opinion.

Here's a line the article, and you'll know instantly why it caught my eye:

"The last five years have been a period of historic change -- with plant closures, layoffs, benefit cuts and company liquidations. For workers, the period has been brutal." But here's my bankruptcy Rant of the Day: it's a nice article that has some good points and facts.

And how much was devoted to the folks who lost their jobs of twenty and thirty years?

"For workers, the period has been brutal."

Now, I have tunnel vision, and I cheerfully admit it.

I don't care about corporations and partnerships and limited liability companies.

I care about people.

And people need jobs and paychecks.

And an end to rising inflation.

And it looks like they aren't going to get any of those things anytime soon, but there will be more consumer bankruptcy cases.

And, as always, I hope I'm wrong.

p.s. I just looked at the comments to the article, and I saw that a fair number of folks share my tunnel vision.
