Join author Tyche Hendricks and Arturo Sarukhan, Mexico?s ambassador to the United States, for a lively discussion of the dynamics at work on the U.S.-Mexico border and the implications for future immigration policy. Hendricks and Sarukhan will headline a special presentation, ?Border or Borderlands? The U.S.?Mexico Relationship and the Immigration Debate,? at the AFL-CIO on Sept. 30 at 6 p.m.
The presentation is co-sponsored by the AFL-CIO and the Center for American Progress. Click here for more information and to RSVP. Seating is limited and is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Hendricks, an award-winning journalist and author of The Wind Doesn’t Need a Passport: Stories from the U.S.-Mexico Borderlands, argues that a better understanding of the region?and the way the United States and Mexico are connected there?is essential if policymakers are to reach lasting solutions that benefit both countries. Copies of The Wind Doesn’t Need a Passport will be available for purchase at the event.
