Advocaten voor Advocaten: fighting globally for the rights of lawyers

ADVERTISEMENTS

Twice recently, I've asked our readers if there are any organizations of lawyers that advocate for lawyers around the world who face political pressure (or worse) because of their work as lawyers.

A commenter, Maria Rohaly, steered me to this organization, Advocaten voor Advocaten, also called Lawyers for Lawyers or L4L, which seems to play precisely that role.  I don't know much about them, but will try to learn what I can.  In the meantime, you might want to check out their site, which has an English language version.  (Rohaly is connected with Mission Free Iran, which has been championing the rights of lawyers in Iran.)
