: Practical ParalegalismMountain Magic for Paralegals

ADVERTISEMENTS
Every year the North Carolina Advocates for Justice (NCAJ) has a terrific fall conference for paralegals at the beautiful Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa in Asheville, North Carolina. The luxurious resort combined with the gorgeous fall foliage truly create Mountain Magic, which happens to be name of the event. If the Grove Park Inn sounds familiar, it may be because you read about the Obamas vacationing there earlier this year. This year's conference has great speakers lined up, including Tracey Weaver, the Executive Secretary of the North Carolina Industrial Commission, who is presenting a session on administrative filings. I heard her present this topic at the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) Paralegal Division's December 2009 workers' compensation seminar. She is an excellent speaker, and anyone who specializes in this area will benefit from her series of top ten tips. With topics ranging from UM/UIM coverage to technology for legal professionals, this CLE has a lot to offer paralegals looking for a live fall conference. To see the brochure, click here.
Tara Wilder, the NCBA Assistant Director of Paralegal Certification, and one of the moderators of the LinkedIn Group for North Carolina Certified Paralegals (NCCP), will discuss ethics. Tara is an enthusiastic proponent of paralegal education, and is becoming well known for posting helpful links to online resources and news items almost daily in the NCCP groups on Facebook and LinkedIn. I have not had the good fortune of hearing her present yet - I'm envious of the paralegals who will get to meet her during Mountain Magic.
With the North Carolina Paralegal Association's 26th Mid Year Seminar being held in Asheville on September 11, 2010, and Mountain Magic coming up the month after on October 15, 2010, there are several good opportunities to get your CLE/CPE hours in, while enjoying the best of the beautiful North Carolina mountains.
