- In US v. Rivera-Corona, the Ninth Circuit clarified the standard for considering a defendant's request to discharge his privately retained lawyer and proceed instead with a court appointed lawyer.
- Florida firms are pushing back against the proposed Florida Bar rules for web advertising. The Rainmaker Blog piles on.
- If you enjoy reading about the history of the profession, you might enjoy this short piece from William & Mary about St. George Tucker.
- Jayanth Krisnan (Indiana) will be overseeing a major study of the Indian judiciary.
- Two firms fought very hard -- and successfully -- to have small Rule 11 sanctions reversed. (h/t: ALM)
