Lexington judge steps aside in lawsuit trial
LEXINGTON, Ky. ? A judge in Lexington has stepped aside from hearing a civil case involving the Kentucky League of Cities.
The city of Cold Spring, which is suing the league, had asked Fayette Circuit Judge Pamela Goodwine to recuse herself.
Goodwine served on the Blue Grass Airport citizens advisory panel with the husband of defendant and former League of Cities executive director Sylvia Lovely.
The Lexington Herald-Leader reported Goodwine agreed to recuse herself and Circuit Judge Thomas Clark will preside over the trial.
Cold Spring's lawsuit seeks repayment of money the league spent on loans to employees and high salaries.
The league provides insurance and financing services to member cities throughout the state.
