: Random Ramblings About Life and Law SchoolBanks suck
By Lindsay
Ok, ok, I know. Ultimately the overdraft was my fault, although it's hard to keep track sometimes when you're working and going to school. But does that mean that the bank has to make over 10 times the profit from it?
Like I said, if you're going to screw the middle class, we're taking you down with us. This is why those of you who are rich need to care about those of us who aren't. Because while you're making money off of us, you're shoving us farther and farther into debt. While you CEOs are padding your own pockets at the expense of those who provide you with your income, we've started declaring bankruptcy (and whatever businesses those loans and credit card debt were taken out for then lose their income), foreclosing on mortgages in a ridiculously bad housing market (and the banks lose their money when they can't then sell the houses they foreclosed on), and just not buying stuff because the cost of inflation has so outpaced our increase in pay.
I have to admit, part of the reason I wanted to go to law school is because as the divide between the haves and the have nots grows wider and wider and the middle class is disappearing, I want to have the ability to be on the side of the haves.
So sue me.
