Obama is a Good Politician

By wt

ADVERTISEMENTS
In the last few days, the feeling has been palpable. Barack Obama, leading in pledged delegates, has been losing electoral momentum. He won Mississippi last Tuesday. Since then, his campaign has been battered by Rezko revelations and of course the *scandal* regarding Jeremiah Wright.

With Hillary's huge lead in Pennsylvania, there was almost a prayer of a hope that the race was actually shifting in her favor.

A lesser politician might ignore the facts. He or she might hope things turn around on their own. Or they could keep campaigning, keep issuing press releases, or keep pretending to avoid the problem.

But not Obama.

He'll be in Philadelphia tomorrow morning delivering a speech titled, ?Race, Politics, and Unifying our Country.?

It's almost not fair. The press finally catches Obama, dead to rights, on a huge scandal. His pastor is on film spewing hatred and lies.

And Obama gets to respond by playing to his strength -- a speech about unity.

Hillary's campaign must be so irritated. What do they have to do to get this guy out of his wheelhouse?

I'm not sure there is anything that can be done.

The momentum has shifted slightly away from Obama in the last week. But I predict it will shift back to him, starting tomorrow.

The Wright scandal might have been the big event Hillary was waiting for. And yet, somehow, Obama played it well. Maybe he's less politically naive than I thought.
