: Legal Pad | LASan Diego attorney files age discrimination suit against Aguirre's office
By Jason Siegel
San Diego attorney Mark Stiffler filed a lawsuit claiming the city attorney's office fired him because of his age, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.
The lawsuit against the city alleges that deputy city attorneys over the age of 40 regularly received unfair treatment.
Stiffler, 54, claims that in 2006 he was denied raises and promotions, had his cases reassigned to less experienced attorneys without reason, was excluded from work-related meetings and ostracized after filing a complaint with the state Department of Fair Employment and Housing in November 2006.
Stiffler joined the San Diego City Attorney's office in 1986 and was fired in June 2007.
