: Australian Regulatory Compliance ReviewASIC takes over market supervision

The Minister for Financial Services, Superannuation and Corporate Law, Chris Bowen MP, has announced that the transfer of supervisory responsibility for Australia’s domestic licensed financial markets from ASX to ASIC will take place on 1 August 2010 with the commencement of the Corporations Amendment (Financial Market Supervision) Act 2010 and new market integrity rules.
