POET, the world's largest ethanol producer has an opportunity for a Senior Intellectual Property Counsel to join our team!The Senior IP Counsel is the primary legal advisor to the POET management team on all IP issues and is an integral contributor on business and legal strategy. 

This person will report directly to the Senior Vice President/General Counsel and work closely with all senior leadership throughout the company.  Because the ethanol industry is young and technically innovative, the IP issues are broad, sophisticated, and a strategic imperative for POET.   This person in this position will provide IP subject matter expertise and be responsible for company-wide procurement, protection, and management of intellectual property rights, while also providing general law and business advice.  

This is a fabulous opportunity for an attorney with 8+ years legal experience in the IP field who is interested in being a part of a world-class organization that is on the forefront of the renewable energy industry.  The ideal candidate will have top law firm and relevant in-house experience.  We?re looking for someone with an in-depth understanding of intellectual property identification, prosecution, transactions, and litigation matters, as well as experience working with process equipment and technology (including IP protection of process technology).  Experience counseling a senior management team is also a necessary part of this key role.
