Happy (Belated) Social Media Day!

By Eric Lipman

ADVERTISEMENTS
Yesterday, June 30, was Social Media Day, as declared by mashable.com. And I somehow didn't know that until this morning. Guess I'm not "social" enough to have been in the loop on this. I might as well live in a shack in Montana. Just because I missed it, though, doesn't mean it didn't happen, and happen big. A quick Twitter search for the #smday hashtag (which I expected would lead to something entirely different) reveals that a ton of people celebrated. Many of them by meeting up. Not virtually, but in real life. Face-to-face. Weird. Here are photos from the Boston event, where it sounds like some interesting discussions took place. After the presentations and such, some partied so hard that it interfered with their plans for today. Even the producers of the "Twilight" series got in on the action. Any legal types get involved in the festivities? Want to report on whether there was talk of lawyers as social media participants? Or legal implications of the social media explosion? Anyone spot this guy?
