: Legal Pad | LAFormer porn actresses sue industry AIDS clinic for breach of privacy
By Richard Binder
Diana Grandmason and Bess Garren, two former adult film actresses, are suing the Adult Industry Medical Health Care Foundation for allegedly breaching the privacy of their medical records.
AIM, based in Sherman Oaks, is a nonprofit organization that handles STD testing for the porn film industry. The foundation is accused of testing actors at its facilities and then releasing the results online "to adult film producers and anyone else with a user name and password for AIM's database," according to Grandmason's statement.
The AIDS Healthcare Foundation has caused the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to open an investigation into AIM's practices over similar allegations.
