: Food Safety NewsSalmonella Lawsuit Filed Against Casa Lopez

According to the lawsuit, 19-year-old Tyler Nay ate at Casa Lopez on April 30 and became ill with symptoms of Salmonella infection the following morning. He was hospitalized for 4 days due to the severity of his symptoms. While hospitalized, Nay submitted a stool sample that tested positive for Salmonella bacteria.
Nay's illness was reported to the Athens City-County Health Department, which associated his illness with a Salmonella outbreak among Casa Lopez customers. At least 45 people were confirmed to be part of the Salmonella outbreak.
Nay is represented by the Seattle law firm Marler Clark and the Cleveland law firm Ulmer Berne.
