Structured Asset Funding: Trade Secret Case To Reveal Workings of "Cash Now Pusher"?

By John Darer

ADVERTISEMENTS

The structured settlement watchdog has had his turrets on Structured Asset Funding for a while now. The company is known for absurd and atrocious advertising which suggests that structured settlement annuitants sell their payments for expensive sports cars  like Ferraris and boats. A number of customers have complained of significance delays from the company that advertises "fast cash now". The company is also the servicing company for a board member of the Society of Settlement Planners and the two companies have common ownership.

Now a lawsuit pending since March 8, 2010 in Broward County 17th Judicial Circuit of Florida styled Structured Asset Svcs, LLC et al, Plaintiff v Joshua C. Wander et al. (Broward County Case: CACE10011122) promises to be quite revealing about the inner workings of Structured Asset Funding.

The Plaintiffs are listed as:

  • Structured Asset Funding, LLC and Structured Asset Services, LLC are represented by Jared Gelles (who incidentally is also listed as registered agent of Bentzen Funding Solutions)

The Defendants are listed as:

  • 1341 Cap, LLC
  • Marlon G. Oddo, who is represented by Hollywood , Florida's Dana M. Gallup
  • Joshua C. Wander, represented by Pembroke Pines' Susan Leslie Dolan

Our long standing readers may remember our last "encounter" with Josh Wander on this blog in our March 17, 2008 post What is "Structured Asse"? A Factoring Spy Story.  There he donned the old "cloak and dagger" to "ride" to Rhonda Bentzen's "honor" in a n effort to learn competitor Sovereign Funding Group's  funding source after the competitor critiqued Bentzen's "a price is just a price, something that any self serving... could claim to have the best of"" turd ball.

Ironically he's now embroiled in THIS trade secret lawsuit.

In a sign that proceedings may get juicy, on May 3, 2010 the Court entry states "Scandalous and Impertinent Allegations from Complaint Answer to Remainder of Complaint and Ctrclaim"

We will be covering this case as it moves forward in the public and industry interest.
