Get Your Head Into The Clouds

ADVERTISEMENTS

Al-gore-internet A passing reference in a previous post to an upcoming webinar on issues for banks related to "Cloud Computing" generated some inquiries as to what, exactly, constitutes "cloud computing." Well, when it comes to drilling down into the esoterica of IT, you generally ought to look elsewhere than Bank Lawyer's Blog. Nevertheless, since Fridays from June until September are generally the lightest day of the "work" week for blog visits, and since I'm stretched for time, I'll refer any interested readers to the following video from rPath, which in less than five minutes gives novices a decent, and amusing, summary of the concept. It also confirms that Al Gore did, indeed, invent the Internet.

For those in search of even lighter fare, here's a paean to cloud computing sung to Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" by Sun Microsystems employee "Loose" Bruce Kerr. My favorite verse? "Let me never spend another night with Rajesh on the phone." Enjoy.
