Love at the Lexis session

Yesterday the guy sitting next to me at the Lexis session started chatting me up. I thought he was just being unusually friendly until he asked, "What are you doing tonight?" I said, "I'm going home to my kid."

You know that feeling of infinite possibility you have when you're single? I have been married for five and a half years. That feeling has died. I have the occasional crush (although even those are few and far between) but in general romance, other than with my husband, is the farthest thing from my mind. Especially since becoming a mom. Before, on the semi-rare occasions that I'd get hit on, I would be flattered. Now I think, what? Me? You must be mistaken. I'm somebody's mother.
