Life Technologies as an immediate need for a Sr. IP Counsel, Litigation, for our Carlsbad, CA location.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Lead IP Counsel ? Litigation, the IP Counsel ? Litigation is responsible for directly managing patent litigations, including U.S. and foreign litigation before courts, arbitrators, and administrative agencies. The qualified candidate will be a highly experienced patent litigator, and will directly carry out some or all litigation tasks for particular matters, such as drafting briefs, taking and defending depositions, and arguing motions. A demonstrated ability to effectively manage litigation strategy and cost are key requirements. Superb negotiation skills and excellent communication skills are also required. 

Additional requirements: Minimum of 5-7 years of significant patent analysis and litigation experience in a major law firm and in-house. Must be admitted to a State bar or the District of Columbia. An advanced degree in life sciences(Biology, Engineering or Chemisty) or equivalent technological background, and registration in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, are desired
