We have gone through our links on the LawPundit law blogroll to update URLs and to provide selected recent information about those linked websites or blogs. This posting covers Links on the LawPundit Main Page : (2) (j) The Law Blogroll - J:

joegratz.net is by San Francisco attorney, Joe Gratz, and focuses on copyright law. Joe reports that the Organization for Transformative Works has been founded, an event of interest in view of the litigation between Warner Bros. and J.K. Rowling against RDR Books:

"The Organization for Transformative Works (OTW) is a nonprofit organization established by fans to serve the interests of fans by providing access to and preserving the history of fanworks and fan culture in its myriad forms."

For those of you out there who speak German, jurabilis, a weblog out of Berlin, has a recent posting with rules for advocates, taken from the middle ages. These rules show that little has changed in law over the centuries.

JuraBlogs comments on the world of blawgs, sometimes in German and sometimes in English, for example in referring to a posting at Tranwblawg via The Illinois Trial Practice Weblog about Interviews with Supreme Court Justices / Video-Interviews mit US Supreme-Court-Richtern, referring to video material available via LawProse., "a provider of CLE training in legal writing, editing, and drafting." LawProse writes:

"In 2006-2007, Bryan Garner [editor in chief of Black's Law Dictionary] interviewed eight of the nine Justices about legal writing and advocacy. These are the complete interviews....

LawProse is making these interviews available as a public service. Anyone may freely use these videos for educational purposes, with appropriate attribution to Bryan Garner or LawProse."

Jurisdynamics is a law blog hosted by Jim Chen, Dean of Louisville Law School, with several contributors, that "describes the interplay between legal responses to exogenous change and the law's endogenous adaptive capacity. This blog focuses on tools (mathematics, linguistics, complexity theory, and biology) and subjects (regulation, innovation, environmental law, and natural disasters) that invite jurisdynamic analysis." For those of our readers who speak German, Chen writes in Die Schöpfung: Zwei Podcasts:

"By way of Theologisches Deutsch I've discovered this treasure trove of literary podcasts in German."

Definitely excellent.

Just a Patent Examiner posts about patent law from the quite understandable standpoint of someone who is tired of all the criticism leveled at the patent office. However, we point out that criticism of the system is not necessarily a criticism of those who are obliged to work within that flawed system. Who Trains Whom is a posting that gives us some very useful insights into patent examiner training. There are many reader comments. Ours would be the question of whether that posting does not confirm rather than contradict the sharp criticism levelled at the patent office.
