Big day

So it was a pretty big deal when someone of my generation was elected President.  But to have someone from my era on the Supreme Court - well - we’ve arrived.

From what I can tell about Elena Kagan, she is level-headed, very smart and quick, has a great sense of humor, asks good questions, and doesn’t take herself too seriously.

Here’s the reaction from someone at lunch today here in New York:  “Most importantly, she went to a great elementary school.”  Who cares about Princeton, Oxford, or Harvard Law School - she went to Hunter College Elementary School ‘71 and Hunter College High School ‘77.  That’s key in this city.
