The "Ranking Game" Game -- Make Your Own Rules

By Dan Markel, Ethan Leib, Rick Garnett, Matt Bodie, Paul Horwitz , Steve Vladeck, and Orly Lobel

ADVERTISEMENTS

I haven't seen this mentioned yet, but it's (i) an interesting way to see what counts in law school rankings and how such rankings could be different if different criteria were given different weight; and (ii) a real potential time-waster for law profs into ranking issues.

The Indiana-Bloomington law school website has a link to a Law School Ranking Game.  In addition to discussing issues in rankings, it lets you set up your own rankings by adjusting the weight given to various criteria.  Make some factors more important, my school (and probably yours) moves up; make other factors more important, you can make schools move down.  Fun for the whole family, AND educational!
