For all you fortunate to have secured a new entry level job in the legal academy, felicidades!

Let me put a big plug in for the AALS workshops for new law professors in the middle of June. There are actually three back-to-back-to-back workshops. The first is for pre-tenured minority law teachers (June 16-17th), the second the Workshop for New Law School Teachers (June 17-19th), and the third is the Workshop for New Law School Clinical Teachers (June 19-20th).

This is a good opportunity to meet respected senior professors (Don Langevoort led the business law break-out group the year I attended) and your cohort of colleagues starting at other schools. It is also a good chance to ask questions that you might be afraid to ask at your home school.

Ask your new school if they?ll pay for the trip. They should.
