Jury: Nurse, Anesthesiologist Not Liable in Death of Patient

A New York jury ruled last week that an anesthesiologist and a nurse at a Manhattan plastic surgeon’s office were not responsible for the death of a woman during a face-lift in 2005. Kay Cregan died on St. Patrick’s Day in 2005 in the office of Dr. Michael Sachs. The jury found nurse Susan Alonzo Francisco and anesthesiologist Dr. Madhavrao Subbarao had not significantly contributed to Cregan’s death. Sachs settled with the family for $2.1 million before the trial began.
