Rooney new corporate partner at Sheppard Mullin

Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP has announced that Kevin K. Rooney has joined the firm in the Silicon Valley office as a partner in the Corporate group.

Rooney most recently practiced at Hayden Bergman & Rooney in San Francisco, as a name partner. Previously, Rooney was an attorney with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, Professional Corporation in Palo Alto and Davies Ward Phillips & Vineburg LLP in Toronto.

Rooney's practice focuses on a wide variety of corporate, securities and related matters, in particular, mergers and acquisitions and public and private financing transactions. He has represented many leading Silicon Valley and Bay Area public and private companies. In addition, Rooney has represented a number of Canadian technology and growth companies in U.S. transactions and offerings.

Rooney is an Adjunct Professor at USF School of Law and a Lecturer at UC HAAS School of Business (MBA). Additionally, he is an Advisory Board Member (Ontario) to the TSX Venture Exchange. Rooney received a LL.B. from Dalhousie University Law School (Canada) in 1999 and a B.A.Sc. with honors, from University of Waterloo (Canada) in Mechanical Engineering with a Management Science Option.
