BROWARD COUNTY CAMPAIGNS by Al Schreiber I regret to inform the voters and the lawyers in Broward  County that I am not running for a judgeship.  Also, I am not Alan Schneider, who just filed to run against incumbent Circuit Judge Elijah Williams. Thanks, nonetheless, for all the phone calls and support for my non-existent campaign. Additionally, I have received numerous panic phone calls and mail in Austin, Texas from Broward campaigns begging for money, since the Broward Bar is nearly broke and many incumbent judges have opposition for the first, and possibly the last time, in their judicial careers. Campaigns may be an unpleasant and distasteful experience for many judges who have never campaigned before, but the campaigns make most judges less arrogant and pompous than a political appointment by Governor Charlie Crist  - a legal genius who flunked the Florida Bar on two consecutive attempts...continue to full post
