: The Pullins ReportEthanol Industry Launches First National TV Campaign
By The Pullins Group LLC
Columbus, OH ? Ohio?s biofuels backers are cheering a new release coming soon to a television set near you. For the first time ever, the American ethanol industry is launching a sustained, national advertising campaign to extol the benefits of renewable, domestic ethanol as an alternative to imported petroleum.
Growth Energy, the coalition of U.S. ethanol supporters that created the ad buy, hosted a ?commercial premiere? event in the State Capitol in Columbus this afternoon to debut six new commercials that will be running as part of a $2.5 million national advertising effort they are calling the ?America?s Fuel? campaign.
?Ethanol is America?s fuel: it?s made here in the U.S., it creates U.S. jobs, and it contributes to America?s national and economic security. This ad campaign is designed to communicate those facts about ethanol to the broader American public ? people who too often only hear one side of the story,? said (Ret.) Gen. Wesley K. Clark, Co-Chairman of Growth Energy.
Joining Growth Energy representative Robert Flynn at the event were Ohio Ethanol Producers Association President Mark Borer and Dwayne Siekman, Executive Director of the Ohio Corn Growers Association.
"This is a historic moment for the ethanol industry . For the very first time, we'll be using television to target people across the entire state and country at the very same time," said Growth Energy Representative Robert Flynn.
?The truth about ethanol has been clouded for too long," said Mark Borer. " We know that Ohio ethanol creates jobs and cuts our dependence on foreign oil. These commercials will drive these points and lead to not just greater acceptance of our industry, but more importantly lead Ohioans to actively get behind and promote Ohio's ethanol industry and our farmers."
?This new campaign is a great opportunity to spread the facts about ethanol to millions of people,? said Dwayne Siekman, Executive Director of the Ohio Corn Growers Association. ?It?s good to see the industry fighting back against the myths told by Big Food and Big Oil. ?
The event in Ohio was one of 10 events held around the country on Monday to celebrate the ?America?s Fuel? campaign.
