conflict of interest 2: electric bill-aloo

This was funny when it happened last summer, but I'm not so sure now.  I got invited by the Institute for Do-Gooding* to be on a conference call to talk strategy about a state bill dealing with immigration and employment that goes for a hearing this week. My summer supervisor is starting to treat me like a colleague now that I'm going to be one next year. Anyway, the person writing the email pastes the bill into the email, I scroll down, and guess what? The thing was filed by Dan's boss. Dammit!

I turned down the call. Lame. Everyone tell Dan to get a new job. I suggest winning the Jeopardy TOC and then quitting to be a stay-at-home dad/trivia celebrity.

*This was shorter than "my summer employer, who I'm also researching for this semester." I'll try this from now on.
