Senator Dodd's Bill

The full text of the financial services reform bill introduced by Senator Dodd today, which includes a new Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection within the Federal Reserve, is available here.

At his press conference Senator Dodd seemed to emphasize that the Bureau will be independent of the Fed with a presidentially-appointed director and separate budget.
