: Cocky Law BlawgWorldCat Partnering with Jstor to Increase Access to Scholarly Content
By Rebekah
Sweet! Two fabulous research tools are working together to bring us more access points for scholarly content. WorldCat.org is the world’s largest database of library holdings around the globe. We use it for many purposes, including verifying materials for interlibrary loan requests. Jstor is an archival database of scholarly content, both legal and non-legal. Its documents are archived in PDF format, the most-wanted and most useful for legal research. Now records from Jstor, including journals, selected monographs, and other content, are indexed in WorldCat. Any user whose library has a Jstor subscription can access the full-text content right from WorldCat. I accessed one last week this way, and it worked like a charm. To see a demonstration of WorldCat.org, Jstor, or both together, stop by the reference desk. We’d love to show them to you.
