Reed Smith rises up the ranks

Reed Smith is on a hiring spree in Los Angeles, as the firm grows in its profitability and global geography, The Recorder reported.

The 1,600 lawyer firm has about 100 lawyers in Los Angeles and hopes to see the number double, the head of their west coast commercial litigation group told The Recorder.

While some observers say Reed Smith has a long way to go to be on par with L.A.'s leading firms, the head of their corporate department said that day is coming soon.
