By Steven M. Levin and John J. Perconti

ADVERTISEMENTS

An undisclosed settlement was reached in a medical malpractice trial involving a woman who became disabled following a surgery. The woman filed the medical malpractice lawsuit against the hospital and the estate of her surgery. She had undergone surgery for a perforated ulcer. Six days after the surgery she was readmitted to the hospital with internal bleeding. The blood loss caused her brain damage and she lost her teeth. The medical malpractice lawsuit also alleged that she lost a thumb and parts of two fingers. The terms of the medical malpractice lawsuit were required to be confidential.
