: The GavelObama ?Likely? to Renominate Judges
By Peter Hardin
President Barack Obama is expected to re-nominate two controversial picks for judgeships whose names the Senate returned to the White House in December.
The Huffington Post reported that those individuals likely to be re-nominated soon by the White House include U.S. Magistrate Judge Edward Chen of California and former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Louis L. Butler Jr. Both were nominated in 2009 for district court judgeships (see earlier Gavel Grab posts.)
The president “is increasingly frustrated with the slow pace of confirmation for his judicial and executive appointees, according to White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs,” Huffington Post reported.
