For those of you attending AALS in New Orleans this week, I hope to see you at a panel I'll be moderating, The U.S. Supreme Court's Increased Attention to the Law of Lawyering During the 2009-2010 Term: Mere Coincidence or Something More? We are hoping for a great conversation among the panelists and with the audience about the Court's heightened interest in lawyering this term (by the way, the latest number according to my count is 13 cases, ten argued and three per curiam opinions). The panel is set for Thursday from 1:30-3:15, and further details are available here.
Two other panels to check out sponsored by the AALS Professional Responsibility Section are The Transformative Effect of International Initiatives on Lawyer Practice and Regulation: A Case Study Focusing on FAFT and its 2008 Lawyer Guidance, Friday from 10:30-12:15 (details here), and Overcoming the Difficulties of Teaching Negotiation Ethics, Friday from 4-5:45 (details here). Another panel that I think will be of special interest to readers of this blog takes place on Saturday morning from 8:30-10:15, The First Amendment Meets Cyber-Stalking Meets Character and Fitness (details here).
